~ Battle of Testry (687)
* Pepin d'Heristal the Younger of Austrasia , II (631 - December 16, 714).
~ Battle of Hastings (October 14, 1066)
* William "The Conqueror", I (October 14, 1024 - September 09, 1087). King and Conqueror of England.
* Harold Godwinsson of England, II (c. 1022 - October 14, 1066). King of England, conquered by King William after a full day of fighting when an arrow put out his eye.
* Robert de Beaumont, I (c. 1046 - June 05, 1118). Earl of Leicester, England; Seigneur de Beaumont Pont Audemer, Brionne and Vatteville, Normandy; Count of Meullent. Fought for William the Conqueror.
* Roger de Montgomery (1022 - July 27, 1094). Fought for William the Conqueror, Earl of Arundel and Shrewsbury, founded Abbey of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Shrewsbury.
* Bernard de Saint-Valery, II (c. 1005 - October 14, 1066). Killed in battle, fought for William the Conqueror.
* William de Braose (c. 1049 - 1087). Lord of Bramber.
* Humphrey "The Old" de Bohun (c. 1030 - bef 1093). Lord of Taterford, Norfolk, England.
~ Marcher Wars (1260's)
* Roger de Clifford (abt 1231 - 1285). Sheriff of Worcester and Gloucester, Castellan of Gloucester. One of the leaders of the rebellious Marcher barons who refused to acknowledge King Henry or his son King Edward I (Longshanks), until a charter known as the Provisions was reinstated. When Henry refused, the revolutionary lords seized control of the south of England, from Gloucester and the Severn region to Kent and Reading, prompting Henry to give in on 16 July 1263.
~ Battle of Lewes (1263(?))
* Humphrey de Bohun, V (c. 1200 - September 24, 1275). Taken prisoner.
~ Pequot War (1637)
* Nathaniel Turner (b. late 1500's/early1600's - 1646). Captain in the Pequot War, emigrated to Massachusetts in 1630 as part of the Winthrop Fleet, Constable in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1634, died on the New Haven Ship Fellowship's trade expedition to England, under command of Capt. Lamberton; the ship set sail in January of 1646 and is thought to have foundered and sunk, for it never arrived.
~ King Philip's War (1675, Connecticut Colony)
* Thomas Yale (1616 - March 27, 1683). Originally of Plas Grono, Wales, died in New Haven, Connecticut
* John Todd (b. December 1642 - ?). Of New Haven, Connecticut.
* John Doolittle (June 14, 1655 - ?). Of Wallingford, Connecticut.
* Edward Culver (Colver) (Abt. 1600 - 1685). Fought in King Philip's War, born in Southeast England, emigrated with John Winthrop, Jr. in 1635, helped found Dedham, Massachusetts, worked as a millwright, wheelwright, farmer, baker, brewer, and Indian Scout.
~ War of the American Revolution (1776 - 1781)
* Joshua Morse (March 29, 1728 - November 13, 1819). Of Rochester, Massachusetts.
* Reuben Mason (1756 - November 2, 1806). Of Massachusetts (Darmouth?).
* Micah Spooner (May 22, 1754 - October 09, 1822). A minuteman of Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
* Percival Ashley (1740 - abt 1822). Of Rochester/Plymouth, Massachusetts (?).
* William Collins (October 09, 1759 - September 23, 1850). Private, originally from Connecticut, buried in Stone Mills, NY.
~ American Civil War (1860 - 1865)
* George House (January 18, 1834 - October 21, 1899). Born in Cicero, NY, died in Mallory, NY, of a 5-year illness, served three years in the 24th NY Calvary.
~ World War II (1939 - 1945)
* Roland William Smith, Sr. - My grandfather flew P-51 Mustangs on escort missions over France, Belgium, and Germany out of Fowlmere Airfield, north of London, England. He was part of the 504th division of the 309th airborne, and destroyed 3 Nazi ground targets on his flight missions in 1944-45.
